(7) Distribution of properties according to legal calculations-

For the purposes of determining the order of succession among agnates or
cognates, relationships shall be reckoned from the intestate to the heir in
terms of degrees of ascent or degrees of descent or both, as the case may be.

intestate.

To determine the order of succession among the agnates(relatives from
father side) or cognates(relatives from mother side)the generations of
living upward relatives i.e.(father, grandfather etc.)and generations of living
downward relatives(son, grandson etc.)will be taken in to account.

Deceased person dying without will, shall be included in calculating the number
of generations in the upward or downward order.

Every generation constitutes a degree either ascending or descending.
