An Act to amend the law relating to powers-of-attorney.
(1) Short-title -Sec.1
This Act may be called the Powers-of-Attorney Act, 1882.
Local Extent
It applies to the whole of India except the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
Commencement
Act, it shall come into force on the first day of May, 1882.
Definition -Sec.1-A
In this Act, "power-of-Attorney" includes any instrument empowering a specified
person to Act for and in the name of the person of executing it.

Power of Attorney: When an owner of the
property, with a formal document appoint any agent, generally with wide general
powers over that property, called power of attorney.
