Buying or Selling your property is one of the most stressful experiences for most people.

Selling your property when you are in one country and the property in another is incredibly stressful, especially when you’re in the dark about local property laws, taxation and process including the repatriation of your own funds.

We acquired our flat in Anand, India some 10 years ago. It was a new build and we enjoyed the property very much.. every Christmas we went, my mother spent the winter months there and life was great.

The Pandemic made us revisit ownership and having luckily found a willing buyer, the process of selling was incredibly daunting. I have to confess, I cannot read or write Gujarati.

That’s when I heard about NRI Legal Services based on my door step in Leicester.

I went to see them and Salim was very helpful in that he ran through the process in detail and all paper work was detailed but meticulous. the journey started with creating a Power Of Attorney to represent our interests in India. I could not envisage the volume of paperwork required. That’s when the team based in India were introduced to us.

Based in Delhi, Monica and Gurjot took on the work and I have absolutely no words to express my admiration , respect and acknowledgment for their professional approach to work at hand. Their knowledge was obvious and they guided us throughout the entire process with sheer professionalism.

We were kept informed at every stage of the process and explaining matters and timing as to manage our expectations. They did everything.

As Completion got nearer they even dealt with the bankers to ensure the smooth transfer of funds and are concluding tax matters on my behalf ( extended due to Covid issues ).

We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending all those people whom have property issues to use the services of NRI Legal Services. It even surpasses our experience of property transactions in the U.K.

Thanks
